Hamilton Wenham Generals Youth Football, Inc. (HWGYF) is a non-profit organization (501 (c) (3) that is part of the 12-town Cape Ann Youth Football League (CAYFL) and are also members of USA Football. We are not associated with or part of Pop Warner Football.

AGE GROUPS & TEAMS: There are three (3) Age Groups for football in Hamilton Wenham: Ages for teams are determined as of 9/1 and by grade each year.  “D Team” - 3rd & 4th Graders, 10 years old and under. “C Team” - 5th & 6th Graders, 12 years old and under. “A Team” - 7th & 8th Graders, 14 years old and under.  Based on the number of Football Players registering there might be JVC & JVA teams each year. Towns must, per CAYFL Rules, field JVC or JVA Teams should they have 36 or more Players at the 5th/6th or 7th/8th Grade level. JVC and JVA Teams are not based on grade in HWGYF, but are based on decisions by the Head Coaches on what is best for the Player and the Team. There are also B and JVB Team levels (7th grade only) in the CAYFL for towns that can field 7th grade only teams. Hamilton-Wenham is not participating in the B or JVB Team levels in 2009 as CAYFL Rules mandate that each level must have 20 or more Players at the 7th and 8th grade levels in order to have these teams.
